For UGC NET there are 84 subjects for which the exam will be conducted. It will happen at 90 selected cities across the country.

The admit cards for the National Eligibility Test (NET) 2017 has been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The exam will be held by the board on January 22, 2017. Yearly once, CBSE Holds this examination on behalf of the University Grants Commission (UGC).

The test will be for the award of junior research fellowship. Candidates who are eligible will be let to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for assistant professor.

There are 84 subjects for which the exam will be conducted. It will happen at 90 selected cities across the country.

Exam pattern: 

There exam is divided into three papers

Paper 1:
 It comprises 60 questions out of which 50 questions need to be attempted and can be excluded in choice. Time slot : 9: 30 am-10:45 am

Paper 2: 
It comprises 50 questions and all are mandatory to attempt. Time slot: 11:15 am to 12:30 pm Paper 3: It comprises 75 questions and the candidates have to attempt all. Time slot: 2 pm to 4:30 pm

Paper 3:
 It comprises 75 questions and the candidates have to attempt all. Time slot: 2 pm to 4:30 pm.
